One of the aspects that lead me to dither about it is the fact that the site is composed of multiple businesses, in addition to writing.
If my agency business takes off this year – as I believe that it will – I will look to splitting into two entirely different sites. Until then, I’m planning to limp along with this setup.
I’m making good progress, both on getting my Medicare/Medicaid/Obamacare (ACA) businesses off the ground, and in – FINALLY – completing/advancing some writing projects. I might have reached the finish line earlier if I’d narrowed my focus, but this broad focus seems to work with my life and character. Additionally, this allows me to post some chapters of work-in-progress – mostly the Leftism 4 Beginners book – and get some feedback.
I’ve revived the blog posting over the last 6 months, and am – most weeks – writing and scheduling the posts in advance. This allows me to travel, work on other obligations, and focus on Pruning the Planet, without causing blog traffic to dip.
Where am I at with PtP?
The first 5 chapters are finished (PERHAPS some some tweaks, if needed for foreshadowing as the book develops). I’ve blocked out the rest of the book, and will be working for the rest of the month to flesh out the chapter outlines. After returning from Provo, UT, I plan to:
- Set my schedule for agency business – everything else can fit around that
- Draw up a writing schedule that prioritizes completion by importance/nearness to completion
- Clear out office space, organize files/storage
- Put time for spouse on the schedule – we need to start setting a date night!
